Hand-made in Portugal, this attractive boar bristle shaving brush is packed with the finest pure boar bristle from Semogue. The banded boar is great for soaps and will give a lot of exfoliation when used. The handle has a nice wide base to ensure a good grip while in use.

I have not used this brush yet, but it is quite beautiful. The grain of the wooden handle seems very elegant. Despite the fact that it has the same exact dimensions as the 1305, visually it looks much smaller than the 1305. I guess the handle blends in with the hair in a way that creates that illusion. Because the Extra grade hairs are 75% tops, I would guess that it has more backbone than most similarly sized Semogues. Pride of craftsmanship is apparent in all Semogues.

The Semogue 1800 is a great boar brush with what I think is an Ash handle. There is no funky smell. I've done daily hand-lathering & drying for break-in but that's not really necessary; this brush is ready to go out of the box. As for Pasteur? Fast, free shipping - is there anything more to say?

Great 22mm brush. After breaking in for 3 days in cold water in refrigerator , as soft as a silver badger. YMMV
