In the late 1800s, Paul Kelly commanded an army of 1,500 mobsters engaged in a fierce battle over New York’s Five Points neighborhood. These thugs ran massive racketeering and prostitution rings while also finding time to brawl with their archrivals – Monk Eastman’s Jewish gang. Gunfire often echoed beneath Second Avenue elevated train line as these criminals battled for underworld dominance; violence that corrupt politicians from Tammany Hall falsely legitimized. There were no rules or limits; this lawless part of Manhattan felt more akin to the Wild West than urban America!

In my top 5 soaps. Pasteur outside itself with the scent and lather. Don’t need even a dime amount to lather bowl rich lather for 3 passes
For a first offering, I find this soap to be remarkable. The base is very good, incorporating numerous high-end ingredients like numerous butters yet somehow it isn’t a greasy, sloppy mess like so many others are. The scent isn’t one that I’m familiar with but I like it quite a bit. It’s sweet and floral without being cloying or overpowering. Kudos to the artisan responsible for showing restraint and not cranking the scent strength up to 11. It’s where it should be, right in the middle. $6.50 per ounce ($25.99/4) is a little rich for my blood. The consistency is harder than most so maybe it will last longer? I took one star off for the high price but that leaves a very strong four star performance.
Very nice!
Gotham the five points is just a wonderful calming scent. Very slick soap and created a rich and creamy lather!
